So I’m listening to the radio this morning, and suddenly there’s this voice talking about trying to find freedom and happiness in our low-fat mocha decaff latte in this sarcastic voice, and I’m all like, “yeah, people dive into this commercialist bullshit, you don’t have to spend money to have a good time, right on”.

It was a Jeep commercial. There was no self-mockery in it at all; apparently they didn’t see the irony in their irony.

My first thought: “irony: you’re doing it wrong”. Then I realized that they were doing irony much better even than they thought they were.
