I dunno what it is, but “autotune the news” has it. Check out their site to see the other episodes!
Thanks, Bigfoot!

I can easily imagine that this was the thought process used when reviewing our Pharce iPhone app
My sister sent me a forward with twenty-two gorgeous pictures from around the world. The pic above is of Salzburg, Austria, but I created a page with all 22.
Thanks, Tina!
If something is posted on BoingBoing or Slashdot, I almost never blog it. I figure if you’re reading my blog, you’re almost certainly following BoingBoing (and Slashdot, if you’re a techie).
So, if you don’t read BoingBoing, and you like my stuff, read it! Boing Boing Gadgets is also quite cool, as Casanova Frankenstein would say.
I see tons of these. Finally, one worth the 10 seconds!
Thanks, Punxter!
PS My shitty Comcast Time Warner cable internet is timing out packets all over the place, so after eight minutes (literally) of trying to preview this, I’m just slapping up the hand-written HTML. If the formatting is fubar, blame Comcast Time Warner. Traceroute spent five hops just getting off rr.net, and another four hops in Level3.net, whatever that is, before completely crapping out without reaching the destination host.

Watch the video, and follow the instructions precisely. It’s amazing!
Thanks to Ze Frank, the best person on the internet.
If CIOS installation fails
I’m on firmware 4.0u. When I tried to install the CIOS wad (IOS16-64-v257.wad) or any other wad, I got the error “Installing ticket… Err ret=-2011″. After lots of churning, I finally found this link, which fixed it! http://www.wiihacks.com/general-homebrew-hack-issues/14650-how-downgrade-sys-menu-4-no-cios.html
Now I can finally save my game disks to my usb hard drive, and play them from there!
I also got a little more information about the various custom IOSes that made me feel a little better about installing new IO systems on my Wii. Apparently each numbered IOS is stored separately in the Wii, so e.g. if you install a custom IOS, unless it is explicitly designed to overwrite one of the IOSes used by Nintendo, it doesn’t affect them. Apps that use that IOS number won’t run unless you install it.

I have no idea if I’ll actually tweet, but at least I’ve reserved a name before the only ones left start with xyzzy.
Some are considerably more cool than others, but keep paging down and you’re sure to find something that makes you bare your teeth – either in anxiety or amusement, or possibly both.
I was thinking it would be cool if you could put a little gadget on your site that displays blurbs from various sources, like tweets only in the form of a little bar on your website. The look would be like the bar at the top of GMail, but you would define the content with a web page.
Here’s the kind of sources the page could list as content to display in the bar:
So an example page might have in it:
Which would mean your text bar might display “Slow day. Practice crawling.”, or “bobbydmartin tweets: Woohoo! Twitter account! New blog entry: http://blog.bobbymartin.name“. Hitting the left & right arrows would rotate through the available entries. Of course, some of your entries could be ads if you think your readers will be interested.
I’m trying to decide whether to build it or not. Opinions welcome.
